In 2016, Nhung went to the UK to take an MSc in Public Policy at the University of Bristol, in pursuit of a career in academic research. While in the UK, Nhung learned the overarching political and economic framework of contemporary Europe and subsequently extended analyses to Vietnam and China, two Asian socialist countries in which she had a specific interest.
Upon graduation from the University of Bristol, Nhung returned to Vietnam and became a lecturer at the School of Government, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH). She was a co-instructor in the graduate course Introduction to Public Policy and Policy Analysis at UEH. Moreover, Nhung worked as a TA to Professor Pham Duy Nghia at Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management in several courses, including Law and Public Policy, and Public Governance. Most of her graduate students were public officials working at various agencies in southern provinces of Vietnam. Nhung is currently doing a doctorate degree in Political Science and Government at the University of Oregon, USA.
With regard to research on political science, her current interests include contemporary Vietnamese politics, Chinese politics, Public Policy, Higher Education Reform, Sino-Vietnamese relations.
